New Trip Plans

I just started planning a trip for next summer to possibly Wales/England/Scotland. Very early stages but we (friend and I) will be visiting some of her family then enjoying some time with our boys.

I am pretty excited to be able to go overseas again and especially to the UK. The UK is probably my favorite place in the world. It has always been my number one place on my travel lists.

When more details emerge, I will post about them. We are catching up tomorrow to get a rough outline together.

I will leave you some pictures to enjoy.

P.s. Did you know that Wales has more castles per capita than any other place?

The Final Decision

So, We finally decide where to go!

LAS VEGAS!

I know this wasn't on our original list but we found some pretty good deals from Southwest. We have actually been about 2 years ago during the summer.

I am very excited. I will post more about it when we have a list of things to do while in Vegas!

This is the Paris hotel and Eiffel tower, I would love to stay here!
This is us in front of the waterfall, I *think* it was the venetian but we went through ALL the shops in one day from hotel to hotel so I could be wrong.

My top U.S. Cities

May is right around the corner, do you know what that means?...

Why yes you are right, I WILL be graduating from college!!!And do you know the best way to celebrate? Right again, a trip!

So I have been to many places in the U.S., however I would love to go back to some and visit those I have not. I asked J if we could go on a trip since he has to take vacation time at work, he agreed after much pestering gentle nudging. He asked me to make a pro/con list of each place I wanted to go and he would slowly widdle away at them until we have a place to go. Being the type "A" that I am, I made him a PowerPoint with pro's of each place. (Why would you include con's if you're trying to convince him to go?)

So here is my list in no particular order:

  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • NYC
  • Seattle
  • DC
  • Sonoma/Napa
  • San Francisco/Lake Tahoe
  • New Orleans
  • Hollywood/LA
  • Nashville/Memphis
  • Savannah
  • Orlando
Those are just a few of the places I would like to see/go back to. What is your US list?

Where In The World

J and I have a rather long and extensive list of places we would love to visit one day. Some are common on most peoples list (i.e. Paris, London, Rome etc) some are not so common (i.e. Cradle of life, Egypt etc.)
Since we first got together we have always made trips and planned thin
gs to do in other towns. This was partially due to the fact that the town we live in has pretty much nothing to do, part was my own love of traveling to anywhere for anything. J has since caught the travel bug and added new destinations onto our list, I was more than happy to oblige!

Since we have been together we have been to:

Fort Worth

Arkansas

Las Vegas
New Mexico

Amarillo

Houston (way too many times to count, it's basically our backyard and family live there)

Scotland (all over Scotland, which warrants its own post)
Paris (just a night at a hotel)

London (for a millisecond)

Louisiana

Corpus Christi and surrounding beaches

Galveston

and lots of small towns in between.

This list is just places we have been together. When we first were dating, I went on a few trips with my college group to Arizona and Louisville with many stops in between that included Memphis and others.

We have been thinking of making a large international trip in December 2011. But with so many places to go it is hard to narrow it down. We have actually seriously talked about throwing a dart at a spinning globe!

Traveling is a passion of mine. I love seeing how other people live their daily lives and what natural beauty surrounds them. Since I was very
little my family has traveled a lot! We have been to almost every one of the 50 states, and most were by car!

Now that I'm older I would love to take J to some of the places I have already been, but mostly I would love to travel to new places with him. When we were on our trip to Scotland I realized it's not just about me experiencing these things, it's about experiencing them with loved ones. Whether that be J or any of my friends (who I would love to take a few girls trips with), or even family. Traveling is just important to me to help me grow as a person.

What sort of places are on your list? Maybe I will
post mine one day!

Here's a very old picture of J and I in Galveston for Mardi Gras

And here is a more current pic of us in Red River

Cooking Class

So if you know me, then you know that I love all things British! Well it just so happens that a cooking school my friend and I have been wanting to go to is offering a London Pub cooking class. I am very excited, I have never been in a cooking class like this before, only my cooking classes in college. Well we will be cooking lots of yummy foods and will for sure be bringing beverages to enjoy with these (British adult beverages I'm sure). I will for sure write about the experience once it happens, but until then I will leave you with the website and some yummy food pics!

My full Scottish breakfast in St. Andrews, Scotland!J and his full Scottish Breakfast in St Andrews, Scotland!J and his first beer in Scotland! He looks so happy! One day I will make a post about our trip over there and explain about more of these photos. My First Guinness In Scotland!Fish and Chips!

Snow Boarding

So in December J and I will be going to Red River, New Mexico! We have been trying to go snowboarding since we first got together. I'm so excited we finally get to go. I have been before and J has not. I can't wait to see how he does in all that snow! He has never seen mountains except in Vegas and Scotland. We both bought new snowboard equipment of our own. We hope we can go more regularly. Our condo has an outdoor hot tub, we can sit in and be warm and watch it snow! So here's a few pictures to get you in the mood for snowboarding!

Ch-Ch-Changes

* I deleted some of my old posts to flow better with my new blog*

So I have decide to take my blog in a new direction. I want to write about travel. I have always loved traveling ever since my parents drove us EVERYWHERE on vacation, just so we could stop and see every attraction along the way.

I have been to almost each of the 50 states and just recently traveled internationally. I want to take some time to write about past travels from what I can remember and new places that I had my own camera handy! So be on the look out for posts about recent and past travels. I am excited to put them out somewhere other than in my head to remember, I hope I can count on the memories of my parents and siblings for some of the past trips.

Not only do I want to write about trips I have taken, I want to write about trips I will be taking in the future, and put up my list of every place I want to go or go back to before I die.

So to get you in the travel mood too, I'm posting a few pics of different places.

* This is one of my all time favorite pictures. It is a shot of Edinburgh, Scotland looking down at the town from the castle. I wanted a panoramic shot, but didn't trust sitting the very expensive camera on the ledge there, so this was all done just by hand. I'm sure you can tell they don;t natch up exactly but pretty good for free hand.
* This is actually in Las Vegas we went a few years ago.
* This is the Palo Duro Canyon up by Amarillo, Texas. We stayed at J's dads work about 45 minutes away.

* This is J and our dog Shilo in Arkansas digging for diamonds!

*we didn't find any :(*
